Service Contracts

A service contract can take the sting out of unexpected repairs when they come up. While service contracts don’t always make sense in every case, nearly 70% of our customers have found them to be a great way to protect their purchase. We’ll help you assess what makes sense for you and your car, spell out exactly what’s covered, and how much it will cost. Your complete satisfaction is always our top priority at Auto City. Can I cancel at any time?

Yes. If you feel you no longer need the coverage, you may cancel your service contract and get a pro-rated refund. Please keep in mind that most breakdowns are unexpected, and canceling your service contract may leave you vulnerable to costly repairs. If you still decide to cancel, please contact us and we will assist with the cancellation.

What does a service contract cover?

Generally, service contacts cover various components of your vehicle in case of breakdown. These may include the engine, transmission, axles, electronic components, and more. Many contracts also have additional benefits such as roadside assistance and rental car reimbursement. Depending on the type of contract, the scope of coverage may vary. We offer various types of service contracts with coverage ranging from basic drive-train components to comprehensive protection that includes nearly every aspect of your vehicle. How long is the coverage?

We offer contracts as short as 1 year and as long as 6 years.

Where do I need to take my car to get it repaired?

When you need to make a claim on your service contract, you can take your vehicle to the licensed mechanic of your choice, whether it is a neighborhood repair shop you have used for years, a name-brand dealership, or Auto City’s service department. Regardless of where you take your vehicle, the claims process is very easy and straightforward.

Can I bring it back to Auto City for repairs?

Yes, you can! We will even waive your deductible! Our experienced technicians and friendly service advisors are ready to help with any repairs your vehicle may need. To start a claim, please contact our service department and we will do the rest!

Do I have to purchase a service contract or is it optional?

All the finance & insurance products we offer, including service contracts, are optional.

Is there a deductible?

It depends on the service contract. The standard deductible is $100, but there are contracts with no deductibles as well. As a cool bonus, if you make a claim with Auto City, we will waive your deductible regardless of what it is!

GAP Insurance

Each year insurance companies have to “total” 500,000 insured vehicles due to total loss, fire, or theft. The problem is that your car insurance will only pay for the current cash value of the car (less your deductible), which could easily be thousands less than what you still owe on your car loan. Based on your goals, you may purchase Express 5 coverage ranging from 1 year to 5 years.

What is Express 5?

Express 5 is an optional appearance protection program that includes the following 5 components: dent/ding/crease protection, key/remote protection, roadside assistance, windshield protection, and tire & wheel protection.

Where and how can I make a claim?

The claims process is straightforward and easy. In a nutshell, you are only a phone call away from roadside assistance or, if you need repairs, simply bring the vehicle back to the dealership to have it worked on.

Dent/ding/crease protection

We’ll fix all the little dents, dings, and creases that inevitably appear over the life of a car, and we have the technology to do it without paint or fillers.

Key/remote protection

If your key gets locked in the car, we’ll get it out. If your key or remote is damaged, lost, or stolen, we’ll replace it, and cover the cost of any towing needed.

Roadside assistance

Whether you break down on a road trip, get a flat tire, or just need a jumpstart, we’ll send help whenever and wherever you need it, 24/7. Just call the toll-free number we provide and know that help is on the way.

Windshield protection

The first thing we do is treat your windshield to strengthen it against the flying road debris that can cause cracks and chips. If you find you have a crack or chip, we’ll repair it.

Tire and wheel protection

Drivers spend millions every year to replace damaged tires. If a road hazard causes a flat tire, we’ll reimburse you for the repair. If a road hazard results in the need to replace tires, we’ll reimburse you for that as well, including the costs of mounting, balancing, and valve stems, as well as any local or state taxes.

Theft Protection

In the US, a car is stolen every 24 seconds. You can protect your vehicle from theft, and get help if your car is stolen. We mark your car with special small decals and etchings that not only make car thieves think twice about stealing your car, but also help law enforcement track it down and return it to you. The service also provides as much as $5,000 to help you pay insurance deductibles, cover some of the costs of buying a replacement vehicle, and pay off what you may still owe on your car loan. Yes, to be eligible for Theft Protection you need to have comprehensive insurance coverage on the vehicle.

Doesn’t my insurance cover theft?

Your insurance may cover theft, but the Theft Protection program is supplementary and designed to give you an additional benefit in case your vehicle is stolen. Moreover, window etching acts as a theft deterrent device, making car thieves think twice about stealing your car and easier to recover for law enforcement.
